Hopscotch Air is a cutting-edge air taxi company that flies passengers around the Northeast, the mid-Atlantic, and Canada in small but technologically sophisticated Cirrus Aircraft. The company was certified in 2009 and now flies roughly 1400 trips each year, at a fraction of the cost of regular charter flights, mainly due to the cheaper economics of the aircraft.
Hopscotch Air is a pioneer in small-plane air taxi services in the Northeast and is planning to offer new regional airline services to popular Northeast locations by the end of 2022.

About the Company
Hopscotch Air is an FAA-certified air carrier based in New York, with hubs located at Republic Farmingdale, Westchester County, and Teterboro Airports.
The company has its own aircraft fleet and provides a membership program, with entrance and membership fees that start at $3,900. The entry-level program is The Jet Card, a pay-as-you-go service with fixed, flat pricing by the route.
Let’s explore these membership programs in more detail.
Membership Programs

The company started their membership program in 2019. Members pay $325 per month and enjoy exclusive discounts and other benefits.
You can become a member by contacting them on their website.
ClubScotch
Throughout the Northeast, the mid-Atlantic, and Canada, Hopscotch will fly you to hundreds of airports, from the smallest to the biggest. Their planes can transport you to smaller, less crowded airports closer to your ultimate destination. All flights depart according to your schedule.
To become a ClubScoth member, you are required to make a one-year commitment. You can choose to pay $325 per month or $3,250 per year.
Priority scheduling is available to members, as well as quick access to their Customer Experience team. As a ClubScotch member, you are eligible for last-minute appointments and free wait time for up to 15 hours. You can use those 15 hours of free propagation delay during the whole year. That’s a more than $1,000 yearly discount.
Maybe you want to spend the night at your destination? A free overnight is offered once a year (hotel and food not included). Your plane will wait for you the next day to complete your round trip.
The company’s cancellation policy allows you to change your date/route, and is quite flexible for members. You will not be charged for any modifications you make during your trip. Non-members have 48 hours to cancel flights for a refund, while members have 24 hours.
The biggest perks ClubScotch members get is that, in general, they often pay around 25% less than non-members at the retail cost, and get access to the ClubScotch site to check their flight history and account balance online.

The Fleet

Hopscotch Air is an air taxi company operating a Cirrus SR-20/22 aircraft fleet. These planes can fly up to 800 miles without stopping for refueling.
Even though flights with a single-engine piston plane take longer than flights in a jetliner, they can land at smaller airports with shorter runways and are perfect for a party of three. Cirrus planes can access thousands of public airports in the Northeast region.
1. Very Light Jets
The very light jet is the smallest and most economical form of a private jet. They’re ideal for shorter journeys over small distances, with a range of approximately 2,000 miles and an hourly speed of more than 600 mph. These planes are ideal for regional trips and usually accommodate 3 to 6 people.

Company Safety Policy and Standards

The SR 22/20’s sophisticated combat deck and autopilot allow single-pilot flying, but the jets come with a full-plane emergency parachute which, according to the company, is a key selling point for consumers.
SR 20/22 are also WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) capable and certified to fly under difficult icing situations. Moreover, the jets come with WAAS, a ground-based/GPS combo system that allows aircraft to make precise landings at airports where an ILS is not present or operational.
Nassau Flyers, a nearby Cirrus factory-authorized repair shop, does all modifications and other structural and engine maintenance on the ground.
Partnerships
Hopscotch and Linear Air teamed up to operate the only non stop scheduled service connecting White Plains and the Boston metro area.
Similar to Hopscotch, Linear Air also operates Eclipse VLJs (very light jets). Together, the two companies provide consumers with a variety of speed and range choices for on-demand air taxis.
Conclusion
Under the ClubScotch brand, Hopscotch Air provides a Cirrus SR22 and SR20 single-engine piston membership program across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic with fixed-route pricing. Each plane can accommodate up to four travelers.
Because of the rising number of clients, the company plans to launch a new fleet of eight-seat turboprop aircraft to increase capacity, while it already signed with Transcend Air Corporation to purchase the award-winning Vy 400 vertical take-off and landing aircraft. Those planes will be used to expand non-airport routes.
Unlike typical charter, Hopscotch doesn’t charge by the hour nor adds fuel fees. At the time of booking, they provide a single, fixed pricing.
