Vancouver is the third biggest city in Canada, with an estimated population of 660 000 people.
There are many reasons for visiting Vancouver. Located in the western part of the country, it’s mostly famous for its port and beautiful forests. Today, it’s one of the most important tourist hubs in Canada, offering the quintessential Canadian picture: dense forests, maple syrup, and Canadian rangers.
Nature aside, Vancouver excels in many different things too. It’s usually called the “Hollywood of the North”, since many movies are shot in the surrounding region by major film companies that made their home in this city.
Finally, the sea. Vancouver boasts the biggest port in Canada, and the fourth biggest in the whole of North America. Like many coastal cities, it’s extremely diverse: 49% of the residents are not native English speakers, and 54% are designated as “minorities”.
All in all, a great place to visit, meet new people, stroll beautiful forests, and take pictures of unforgettable vistas. And what better way to get there than in the comforts of a private jet?
These are the most popular routes to Vancouver, and we’ll tell you all the essentials about chartering a private jet to Vancouver in the lines below:
Topics
1. Private Charter: Seattle to Vancouver
Let’s start from the beginning. The flight from Seattle to Vancouver is the shortest one on our list. The distance between the two cities amounts to a meagre 200 kilometres, or around 30 to 40 minutes of flight time. It’s a short and pleasurable flight since Seattle is a famous air-transport centre.
Seattle to Vancouver: Pricing Options
Using the smaller planes will cost you between 15 000 and 26 000 dollars. Flying with more people via a heavy jet will cost you around 56 000 dollars.
You can check the detailed prices presented both in USA and Canadian dollars in the table below. Double the numbers and you’ll get your two-way ticket.
The prices below are based on One Flight Book a Jet calculator. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.
Aircraft Type | No of passengers | Average price to Vancouver | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 4- 19 | From $14,423 ($19,672) | 45 min |
Light Jet | 4 – 11 | From $16,389 ($22,354) | 30 mins |
Midsize Jet | 6 – 10 | From $26,727 ($36,455) | 30 min |
Heavy Jet | 6 – 96 | From $56,471 ($77,025) | 30 min |
Seattle to Vancouver: Airport Options
As the main producer of Boeing planes, Seattle has been a transport centre for ages, boasting a lot of high-quality airports with respectable services. There are three major airports that are more than suitable for receiving private jets from all around the world:
- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
- King County International Airport
- Renton Municipal Airport
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

Tacoma International Airport presents an interesting paradox: it’s both one of the smallest airports in the USA and one of the busiest. The airport is quite close to both Vancouver — hence the short flight — and Seattle, located just 23 kilometres from its downtown.
The transport from Seattle is very well organized both by the city and the airport, providing a myriad of options: rent a car, taxi, bus, and train. There’s also a huge garage at the airport with around 13 000 car spaces.
There’s only one FBO at Tacoma that can take care of you and your private jet, the well-known
Signature Flight Support SEA – Seattle-Tacoma Int’l Airport, with their recognizable professionalism.
King County International Airport
King County is another interesting curiosity among the airports of the world. For ages it has served as the main centre of Boeing airplane production, one of the most famous companies of that type in the world. The airport also boasts the one-of-a-kind Museum of Flight, which is really worth your time.
King County is very close to the centre of Seattle — only eight kilometres away. It can be reached by car or bus in a very short time.
Signature Flight Support BFI – Boeing Field/King County International Airport is the only FBO offering its services at this airport.
Renton Municipal Airport
Close to the small city of Renton, this airport is the smallest one in the area of Seattle. If you prefer a more private and quiet experience, it’s the perfect choice for you, since Renton Airport is mainly used for recreational flying. It’s located only 20 kilometres from Downtown Seattle, which is also a huge plus.
There’s no distinct FBO in Renton, aside from the airport itself, which provides the usual services, such as handling, lounges, and other amenities. That means that you shouldn’t expect a lot of luxury here.
2. Private Charter: Los Angeles to Vancouver
The flight from sunny California to Canada is long in terms of kilometres (1 700 kilometres), but short in terms of time spent on the airplane. According to our data, the estimated flight time never exceeds three hours. All in all, a nice comfortable flight in a straight line stretching from the south to the north.
Los Angeles to Vancouver: Pricing Options
The average price for a flight is approximately doubled in relation to the flight from Seattle. But, on the other hand, they’re quite regular. The average price for the turboprop, the light, and the midsize jets is around 35 000 American or 50 000 Canadian dollars. The heavy jet is significantly more expensive.
Aircraft Type | Max no of passengers | Average price to Vancouver | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 9 | From $33,597 ($45,825) | 3 h |
Light Jet | 9 | From $35,525 ($48,455) | 2 h 30 min |
Midsize Jet | 10 | From $38,465 ($52,465) | 2 h 30 min |
Heavy Jet | 96 | From $72,195 ($98,473) | 2 h 30 min |
Los Angeles to Vancouver: Airport Options
Los Angeles is Hollywood and the centre of the USA for VIP experiences. You can expect a lot of luxury here. But, LA is also one of the main transportation hubs in all of America, coordinating both local and international flights. That means that the city offers a lot of airports. Our selection narrows down to the following four as the most suitable ones for private charters:
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
- Hollywood Burbank Airport
- Long Beach Airport
- Van Nuys Airport
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Located 30 kilometres from Downtown LA and next to the Pacific Ocean, LAX has the perfect location, both in terms of utility and aesthetics. It’s one of the busiest airports in the USA, taking care of more than 88 million people annually.
Being used to servicing VIP travellers, the two FBOs that operate on LAX will surely rise up to the challenge. They are the two great names of USA aviation:
Hollywood Burbank Airport
If you want a private experience, smaller crowds, and less noise, Burbank Airport is a perfect choice. Specialized in servicing private jets, it has a restriction on commercial flights between 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. In comparison to the other airports near LA, it’s the closest one to the centre of the city, and has many famous neighborhoods, such as Pasadena, San Fernando, and Hollywood.
The two FBOs offering their services in Burbank are:
Long Beach Airport
Unbelievably close to the centre of LA — only three kilometres — Long Beach Airport is the perfect choice for flying by private jet, since you’ll bypass all the crowds and the hustling that usually comes in pairs with reaching an airport. It’s also very well connected by a matrix of interconnected routes, and quite close to Disneyland too.
Again, two FBOs provide their services at Long Beach Airport:
Van Nuys Airport
If you’ve watched the cult movie Casablanca, starring Humphrey Bogart, you’ll surely recognize this airport — since the movie was shot there. Going strong since 1942, Van Nuys Airport is one of the busiest in the world with almost 230,000 landings a year. That being said, it’s also more than capable of receiving private jets.
Van Nuys Airport is the only exception amongst the LA airports, since no less than four FBOs offer their services. Here they are, listed in no particular order:
3. Private Charter: Denver to Vancouver
Boasting a distance of nearly 1800 kilometres, the flight from Denver to Vancouver holds the isthmus of our list, being neither too far, nor too close. The flight, on average, lasts around three and a half hours.
Denver to Vancouver: Pricing Options
The flights also reflect this middle space that the flight between Denver and Vancouver occupies. The prices range between 41 000 dollars and 46 000 dollars (and their respective worth in Canadian Dollars), with the usual exception of the heavy jet, which is almost twice as much.
You can check the detailed prices presented in both American and Canadian dollars in the table below.
Aircraft Type | Max no of passengers | Average price to Vancouver | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 9 | From $46,600 ($63,561) | 4 h 30 min |
Light Jet | 9 | From $41,243 ($56,255) | 3 h |
Midsize Jet | 10 | From $42,929 ($58,554) | 2 h 50 min |
Heavy Jet | 96 | From $85,621 ($116,786) | 2 h 45 min |
Denver to Vancouver: Airport Options
The biggest city in Colorado, and the 19th biggest in all of America, Denver is mostly famous for the unforgettable natural surroundings. Namely, the nearby Rocky Mountains offer vistas that’ll definitely fascinate you. There are three airports in the wider Denver area, and all of them are more than capable of handling private jets:
- Centennial Airport
- Denver International Airport
- Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport
Centennial Airport

Centennial Airport is an institution with a long tradition, functioning perfectly since 1968. It’s also one of the biggest airports in America, providing 340,000 flight operations annually. Only 19 kilometres from the city centre, the airport is located in the famous Denver Tech Center, which is basically the city’s main place for doing business.
The two FBO operators at Centennial are:
Both of them are big fish in the flight industry, and offer a wide area of services and amenities, more than suitable for receiving and servicing private jets and their clients.
Denver International Airport
Denver International Airport is surely one of the most beautiful airports, not only in America, but also in the world. Its beauty is mainly because of two things: first, the beautiful architecture and artworks — like the famous Paris inspired Gargoyle’s — present on its premises. Second, due to the proximity of the Rocky Mountains, and the unforgettable view they offer. All in all, it offers an unforgettable experience.
But Denver International Airport is also strong on the practical side. It can be reached from Denver’s city centre by car in only 20 minutes, and it’s very close to Aurora – a city which is completely absorbed in the workings of the airport, offering a wide array of services, accommodations, and restaurants. The airport is also listed as the 5th busiest in America, and the 20th busiest in the world.
There’s only one FBO providing services on Denver International Airport, the ever present Signature Flight Support, and they are more than enough. One of the unique things that they offer is a chase for a limousine to pick you up from their flight, but also a wide area of restaurants, accommodations, and amenities.
Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport
Named after one of the famous mountain ranges in America, Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport is a great choice for those who prefer to stay far from the crowds. It’s the smallest airport in the Denver area, and it’s considered as a “reliever airport”, mainly receiving corporate and school flights.
The two FBOs that are always ready to offer you their services like accommodation, food, and shopping options are:
4. Private Charter: Toronto to Vancouver
Surprisingly, flying from Toronto to Vancouver — both of them in Canada — is neither as quick nor as cheap as we could think. The distance of around 3 350 kilometres amounts to basically flying from one to the other side of Canada, in a west to east direction. We have to remember that Canada is a huge country, with the longest border in the world.
Toronto to Vancouver: Pricing Options
The prices are quite big too, due to the large number of kilometres. Almost all of them reach around 100 000 Canadian dollars — or around 75 000 American dollars, and as is always the case, a heavy jet is quite pricey. Since the distance is quite long, the midsize jet and the heavy jet are the preferable options.
You can check the detailed information — including the prices, presented in Canadian dollars — in the table below.
Aircraft Type | Max no of passengers | Average price to Vancouver | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 9 | From $118,011 | 8 h 50 min |
Light Jet | 9 | From $96,034 | 5h 20 min |
Midsize Jet | 10 | From $107,888 | 5 h |
Heavy Jet | 96 | From $174,845 | 4 h 40 min |
Toronto to Vancouver: Airport Options
The most populous city in Canada, and the capital of the Ottawa region, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Toronto is a major commercial and transport centre. There are around ten airports in the wider region of the city. As all of them are not really suitable for receiving private jets, we narrowed the number to only two:
- Billy Bishop City Airport
- Toronto Pearson Airport
Billy Bishop City Airport

We chose Billy Bishop airport mainly because of its location. Located only 10 minutes from the centre of Toronto, it’s the usual choice for those flying on private jets, since proximity and speed (in a general sense) are some of the main reasons for flying privately. The airport is quite small, which means that the crowds are smaller too.
There are two FBOs on Billy Bishop, both of them more than ready for receiving and servicing private clients:
They can take care of everything in relation to your plane: luggage, maintenance, fuel, handling, and transport, but also provide different kinds of amenities and services, mostly on the luxurious side.
Toronto Pearson Airport
Toronto Pearson Airport is the busiest airport in the city, servicing around 50 million passengers annually, according to the most recent statistics. It’s further from the centre than Billy Bishop Airport, but the distance is negligible, only 22 kilometres. That shouldn’t be a bigger problem, since there are a lot of transport options available, like rental cars, buses, and train.
There are three FBOs providing their services at the airport:
All of them bring something different to the table. SkyCharter has the longest tradition, and brings experience and proven professionalism; Sky Service offers two private terminals at the airport, providing privacy; and Signature Flight Support brings the big name and the capital that comes with it.
5. Private Charter: Mexico City to Vancouver
The first intercontinental flight on our list amounts to nearly 4 000 kilometres, covering almost the whole length of North America. That being said, the distance — paradoxically — is slightly larger than the flight between Toronto and Vancouver. On average, excluding the turboprop, it amounts to around six hours spent amidst the clouds.
Mexico City to Vancouver: Pricing Options
The prices, on the other hand, are significantly higher, since travelling from one continent to another is never cheap. We present amounts in relation to the types of jets in the table below, both in Canadian dollars and Mexican pesos.
Aircraft Type | Max no of passengers | Average price to Vancouver | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 9 | From MXN1,780,637 ($124,844) | 10 h |
Light Jet | 9 | From MXN 1,462,130 ($102,513) | 6 h 5 min |
Midsize Jet | 10 | From MXN 1,699,570 ($119,160) | 6 h |
Heavy Jet | 96 | From MXN 2,707,617 ($189,837) | 5 h 25 min |
Mexico City to Vancouver: Airport Options
Mexico City is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. It’s an important transport centre, since Mexico is a famous tourist destination. Consequently, there are a lot of airports in the wider area of the city, but we choose the following three as the most suitable:
- Mexico City International Airport
- Felipe Ángeles International Airport
- Toluca International Airport
Mexico City International Airport

Mexico City International Airport is the largest institution of its kind in Mexico and the 6th busiest in the world. According to the latest numbers, it receives 136,000 passengers on a daily basis, which is quite a lot. The airport boasts a great location, being only 8 kilometres from the centre of Mexico City. That distance can be crossed in many ways, like a car, a taxi, a bus, a trolley, the metrobus, and the authorized taxis.
Checking out the FBOs, we were quite surprised. There are no less than nine FBOs offering their services at Mexico City International Airport:
- Aeroméxico Servicios
- Aeroservicios Especializados
- Alfa 4
- ASMCORP
- Azteca Handling Services
- Consorcio Aviation
- Menzies Aviation
- Passenger Handling Services
Check each one of them — since we didn’t do the list in any particular order — and choose the one which serves you the most.
Felipe Ángeles International Airport
You won’t get many chances to fly from a brand new airport these days, but that’s what awaits you at Felipe Ángeles International Airport, since it started working two years ago. It’s slightly smaller than the main airport but it’s still expanding.
This year (2023) the railway under construction should be finished and ready to go. But don’t worry: you can reach it by car, by bus, or by a shuttle directly from the city.
Probably because it’s new, there’s only one FBO offering its services at the airport, namely the airport itself.
Toluca International Airport
The smallest one in this list, it has served for years as the main alternative option to Mexico City International Airport. It’s mainly used for receiving corporate flights, since it’s quite close (only 40 kilometres) to the Santa Fe financial district.
Like in the case of the first airport on this list, there are a lot of FBOs offering their services at Toluca International Airport. Here they are, listed in no particular hierarchical order:
- Eolo Plus
- Universal Aviation
- FBO Across Signature
- CENTURY AVIATION FBO
- Servicios Aereos Estrella
- S.A. De C.V
- ICCS Toluca FBO
- Jetex Toluca
- Lic. Adolfo López Mateos International Airport
- Aeromaan
- Servicios Integrales de Aviación d/b/a FlyMex
- Avemex
6. Private Charter: Tokyo to Vancouver
The flight from Tokyo to Vancouver is the second longest flight on our list. It amounts to around 7 500 kilometres, or from eight to nine hours spent in the air and over the Pacific Ocean. Since the flight is so long, the heavy jet is the only available option.
Tokyo to Vancouver: Pricing Options
If you want to fly such a long distance in a private jet, you better get yourself a large company. The prices, obviously, are really high, mostly because of two things: the large number of kilometres, and the jet’s size.
In the table below, you can check the detailed price of the heavy jet, converted both in Canadian dollars and Japanese yen.
Aircraft Type | Max no of passengers | Average price to Vancouver | Estimated flight time |
Heavy Jet | 96 | From ¥34,826,666 ($362,765) | 8 h 5 min |
Tokyo to Vancouver: Airport Options
The larger area around Tokyo is the most populous in the world, with more than 37 million residents. The capital of Japan is also one of the world’s most important economic, technological, and transport centres. It offers a wide variety of airports — since it has a lot of customers to serve — but we narrowed the choice to the three most important:
- Tokyo Haneda International Airport
- Narita International Airport
- Chofu Airport
Tokyo Haneda International Airport

Tokyo Haneda International Airport is both the largest airport in Tokyo, and one of the busiest in the world, servicing more than 87 million passengers every year. The airport is fairly close to the south of Tokyo, and given the circumstances (the size of Tokyo), the distance of 15 kilometres is really negligible.
Probably the best choice for reaching the airport is by taking a cab. The usual taxi fare is around $42 or ¥5,600, and you’ll reach your terminal in only 15 minutes.
There are more than enough FBOs offering their services at Haneda International Airport, but only two are suitable for servicing private jets:
The first one is a famous and experienced big fish in the international flight business. The second one, on the other hand, made its reputation while handling millions of tourists during the 2020 Olympic games held in Tokyo.
Narita International Airport
Most international flights go through Narita International Airport, which is also one of the busiest institutions in all of Japan. It is somewhat further from the centre of Tokyo — the distance amounts to around 65 kilometres — but as we already said, the circumstances of Tokyo are very specific. Again, you’ll best reach your destination by a taxi, and the average price range is between $172 to $210, or ¥23,000 and ¥28,000.
Two FBOs are at your disposal at Narita Airport:
For the second time we met with a similar situation: one big name, the famous international giant, and one local company, that is mainly taking care of business flights in Tokyo.
Chofu Airport
Chofy Airport is quite old, going strong since 1941. It’s quite close to Downtown Tokyo, only 27 kilometres by car or by bus. Since the distance is quite short, the average taxi fare is significantly cheaper: 40 dollars, or ¥5,650.
There’s only one FBO in Chofy Airport, and that’s Universal Aviation.
7. Private Charter: Hong Kong to Vancouver
It’s quite a ride from Hong Kong to Vancouver. The distance amounts to more than 10 000 kilometres, which makes it the longest flight on our list. Again, the heavy jet remains the only option you can choose.
Hong Kong to Vancouver: Pricing Options
Renting a heavy jet is never cheap, and renting a heavy jet from China to Canada is not an exception to that rule. You have to be ready to pay almost 400 000 Canadian dollars.
The detailed prices, presented both in Canadian dollars and Chinese yuan, are presented below.
Aircraft Type | Max no of passengers | Average price to London | Estimated flight time |
Heavy Jet | 96 | From ¥1,989,474 ($392, 732) | 11 h 50 min |
Hong Kong to Vancouver: Airport Options
Chek Lap Kok International Airport

Surprisingly, taking into account the size of the city, Hong Kong has only one airport, namely, Chek Lap Kok International Airport or Hong Kong International Airport. The other one in the area, named Shek Kong, is only available for military planes.
Mainly because of its exclusivity, Hong Kong International Airport is probably the busiest cargo gateways, and one of the busiest in terms of passengers as well. It’s basically huge, and employs almost 65 000 people.
Private jet flyers land — most of the time — at the General Aviation ramp, and then are screened to the VIP rooms. What we are trying to say is, there’s only one FBO available, namely, the airport itself – Hong-Kong Business Aviation Center.
Which Jets Can Fly You To Vancouver?
The answer to this very important question depends on the distance between the starting point and the end point. Probably the first four chapters on our list can be travelled to the lighter and the midsize types of jets. For intercontinental flights, like the ones from Mexico City, from Tokyo, and from Hong Kong, the heavy jet is usually the best (and the only) option available.
For a detailed profiling of the different types of jets and their potential use, read on.
Turboprops
Turboprops are very small, propeller driven types of jets, and are usually considered the taxis of the plane world. They’re commonly used in traversing very short distances that don’t exceed an hour and a half spent in the air. The charter from Seattle to Vancouver is the perfect location for flying with a turboprop.
2000 KING AIR 200 is the perfect choice for this kind of flight, since it’ll get you there faster than a regular turboprop, and is more comfortable too.
Light Jets
Light jets are also quite small — compared to the other types — similar in size to turboprops, but with a significant difference: they don’t use propellers. That makes them faster and generally more durable. They can cover around 2735 km without needing to refill. The Los Angeles and the Denver flights are perfect for trying out the abilities of a good light jet.
We recommend the 2012 CITATION CJ4 light jet. It’s quite modern, durable, and with a good luggage space. It’ll get you to your location in no time, and you’ll feel perfectly safe and comfortable.
Midsize – Super-Midsize Jets

Midsize jets — as the name suggests — are somewhere in between in the typology of private aircraft. Bigger, more comfortable, and faster than the light variants, they’re not as cumbersome and crowded as the heavy jets. They usually come with great amenities, Wi-Fi, and even places to take a nap.
2002 CITATION EXCEL is a great model that we would like to recommend for the only Canadian charter on our list — the flight from Toronto to Vancouver.
Heavy Jets
The undisputed kings of the air, they represent the peak of speed, safety, and comfort in the private jet world. They can fly nearly 10 000 kilometres without needing to refill, and they can reach a top speed of around 521, which is quite fast. They’re mostly used for intercontinental or overseas flights. The Mexico City, Tokyo, and Hong Kong flights are perfectly suitable for heavy jets.
1996 CHALLENGER 604 – HEAVY JET is quite pricey, but worth every dollar. The only negative thing about this jet is that it’s not pet friendly.
Conclusion
Vancouver is a great place to visit, especially if you’re travelling there by private jet. Very well connected, it offers a lot of charter options from America, Canada, and the rest of the world.
We did the “dirty work” for you, explored all the available options, and prepared this list of potential destinations, estimated flight times, and average prices. Now, it’s your time to choose.
