London to Dubai By Private Jet

London-to-Dubai 1

The London-Dubai route is as exciting as it sounds. Flying by a private jet from one of the best cities in Europe to the United Arab Emirates, where everything just screams luxury, is as good as it gets.

You’ll be glad to know that the flight is long, but not that long, as it’s somewhere between 6 and 7 hours. It’s a bit shorter than traveling from London to New York, which is why the price is more or less the same. To reach Dubai, you’ll need some £50,000. This will, of course, cover the costs for the whole plane, so if you’re not travelling by yourself, you’ll probably share the amount with your co-passengers.

Since it’s a pretty long distance, a small jet won’t do, which is why you’ll need a midsize or heavy jet that has a wide distance range. There are light jets that are built to fly long distances, but it’s rarely the case.

London to Dubai Airports

There are many options to choose from when flying from London to Dubai. You can take off from different airports in London, and land at whichever airport you want in Dubai. In this article, I’m going to try and include as many combinations as possible so you can have your pick.

The prices we are quoting are taken as an average from various companies. Expect to have taxes and fees added to the final price. The prices may also vary in regards to the date of flying, the time when you wish to depart, as well as the number of passengers if you’re splitting the bill.

From London Luton to Dubai International (DXB)

For some reason, I always check London Luton first, mostly because of the location. It’s outside of town just enough that the crowd is smaller, and there are plenty of FBOs (fixed-base operators) in its nearest surrounding.

To take a midsize jet from London Luton to Dubai International airport, you’ll have to deduct £44,700 from your account. For this price, you’ll get a jet that can fit from 8 to 10 people, and will take you to the UAE in six hours and fifty minutes.

On the other hand, if you wish to take a bigger plane, under the assumption that you’re bringing a larger group, you can rent a heavy jet for £40,550. These are seriously big jets, so you won’t have the private experience as much, but you can fit up to 96 people there, so the price might be really low when split among the passengers.

Flying with a heavy jet from Britain’s capital to Dubai will take you six hours and fifty minutes, just like with the midsize jet.

Type of jetEstimated timeNumber of passengersPrice (one-way)
Midsize jet6 hours and 50 minutes8 – 10£44,700
Heavy jet6 hours and 50 minutes4 – 96£40,550

About The Airports

Luton is located some 35 miles north of London’s city center and represents one of the nation’s most famous and busiest airports. It’s quite easy to reach via public transport, and if you go by car it’ll take you only about an hour to get there. The bus or tram might take some half an hour longer.

When you arrive, you should look for your FBO, and London Luton has a lot of them around it. The most common and well-known provider of such services is Signature Flight Support and the FBO near Luton is one of their best. The service is splendid and the facility itself is gorgeous.

Obviously, you can choose your own FBO, and another great choice is Harrods Aviation, which also offers great services and has a very luxurious terminal. It has a slick interior and lounges that will be of service in case you’re waiting for the jet or simply want to have a drink before going up in the air.

Similarly, Dubai International is nicely situated between enough FBOs. You can encounter many famous names around it such as Execujet, Jetex, or JetAviation. Anyone who has flown at least once by private jet knows that the private terminals these companies offer are quite luxurious. The interiors are very fancy and each passenger is offered a relaxation lounge, catering, and even shower cabins.

Dubai International also has a pretty nice location. It’s basically located in the city center near everything you’d probably want to visit. All the famous restaurants, bars, or sights are only 10 minutes away by car.

From London Stansted to Dubai Al Maktoum (DWC)

Choosing to fly from London Stansted to Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport is another good choice of airports. Not that it changes a lot, but the flight is slightly shorter, although measured in mere minutes, and the price is a bit lower, although not significantly.

To fly by a midsize jet, you’ll need to pay £44,550 for the whole jet that can take from 8 to 10 people. The time needed to pass this route is six hours and forty-five minutes. You can notice how the price and estimated time are not that lower than the previous option, but it’s still less in both terms.

On the other hand, a heavy jet, which is good to hire if you’re taking a larger group at an event like a wedding or company celebration, will cost you £40,550, which is the same price if you’re flying from London Luton. The estimated flight time is also six hours and forty-five minutes, just like with a midsize jet.

Type of jetEstimated timeNumber of passengersPrice (one-way)
Midsize jet6 hours and 45 minutes8 – 10£44,550
Heavy jet6 hours and 45 minutes4 – 96£40,550

About The Airports

Stansted Airport has a very similar position as Luton but in opposite directions. Luton is located some 35 miles northeast of Victoria station, the main bus and train station in London, while Stansted is maybe a few miles further but to the northwest.

This busy and famous airport is the nation’s third busiest international airport. But for you, it’s more important to find out which FBOs London Stansted offers, so you can choose your preferred one.

Stansted isn’t rich with FBOs like Luton and Heathrow. However, there are more than enough, and all of the service providers are well-known companies such as Universal Aviation, which I’m sure you know is quite reliable.

But if UA is not your first choice, you can always try North Air Limited or Infinite Jet Centre. I couldn’t decide between them, as today’s companies really have it all figured out, so it’s best for you to check them all out before making a choice.

To reach Stansted, you need one hour, just like for Luton, even a bit less since the road will help you get there a bit faster. The advantage of Stansted is that you can also take the tube.

Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport is not located in the city center like Dubai International. This one is a bit further and will take you almost an hour to reach the center. That is really not too much for the area, and you can always get an air taxi.

However, there are more than enough FBOs that you can land on once you’ve reached the UAE. One of the more recognizable names is Execujet, whose interior and concierge services we always praise.

Moreover, the airport is surrounded by private terminals run and operated by Falcon Aviation and DC Aviation. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one of them.

London Heathrow to Sharjah International Airport

Getting to the Dubai Sharjah international airport from London Heathrow leaves you with a narrow choice: only midsize and heavy jets can cover this distance without pit stops.

As we already mentioned, a midsize jet can take between 7 and 10 passengers, while a heavy jet can go up to 96.

Flying times for both a midsize and heavy jet are similar: the first takes 6 hours and 55 minutes, while the latter takes 6 hours and 50 minutes.

The price for a midsize jet flying this long distance is 44,650 GBP, or 52,400 EUR, and the heavy jet costs 38,500 GBP, or 42,200 EUR.

Type of jetEstimated timeNumber of passengersPrice (one-way)
Midsize jet6 hours 55 minutes7 – 1044,650 GB / 52,400 EUR
Heavy jet6 hours 50 minutes4 – 9638,500 GBP / 42,200 EUR

About the Airports

Located some 16 miles west of the London city center, Heathrow is one of the busiest airports worldwide. Its FBO is located very near the commercial airport and is operated by Signature Flight Support. Their services offer full ground handling of the aircraft in question that varies from helicopters to luxurious aircraft for their high-end clients, but also royalty and heads of state.

This airport offers all kinds of amenities you can imagine – from dry cleaning, catering, and car rentals, to internet access, conferencing, private workstations, and much more.

Sharjah international airport is located in the Al Rahmaniya area, 7 nautical miles southeast of the city of Sharjah.

You’ll be glad to know that this airpot is a host to many big FBOs. Private terminals are located near the main airport and each of them offers standard luxury services such as aircraft maintenance and keeping, communal iPads, television, restrooms, showers, concierge services, transportation, catering, etc. The FBOs are operated by Business Aviation AE and Gama Aviation.

London Stansted to Dubai Minhad

Once again, for a long route such as this one, midsize and heavy jets are the only ones that can pull off this distance without pit stops.

A midsize jet flying from London Stansted to Dubai Minhad costs 52,400 EUR on average or 44,900 GBP, while a heavy jet is cheaper and costs 47,650 EUR which is 40,850 GBP, even though it can carry 9 times more passengers.

The difference in flight length is only 5 minutes, as the estimated flying time for a midsize jet is 6 hours and 50 minutes, while the heavy jet takes 6 hours and 45 minutes.

Type of jetEstimated timeNumber of passengersPrice (one-way)
Midsize jet6 hours 50 minutes7 – 1044,900 GBP / 52,400 EUR
Heavy jet6 hours 45 minutes4 – 9644,850 GBP / 47,650 EUR

About the Airports

Some 39 miles Northeast of Central London lies the London Stansted airport. Besides having a long flying tradition, this airport is also a host to several luxurious private jet terminals operated by some of the world’s best-known FBO companies, such as Fayair Ltd, Universal Aviation, or Infinite The Jet Center.

The Minhad airport in Dubai is located some 23 miles southwest of the city of Dubai. Private jet flights on this airport are operated by Air Minhad Airbase, and the landing/take-off terminals are all located nearby. The services provided at these FBOs include the standard luxurious offer from transportation to catering, conferencing, and showering.

Types of Jets to Take From London To Dubai

As I mentioned above, the only available types of jets that can take you directly from London to Dubai are midsize and heavy size jets.

Here are two models from the list of available aircraft that’s mostly chosen by passengers.

two pilots in a cockpit

Challenger 850

This super-midsize jet can take between 14 to 16 passengers on board. The interior is designed so that two comfortable armchairs face each other with a table in between along the left and right sides of the plane, providing some privacy during the flight.

The estimated flying time on this plane is 6 hours and 45 minutes, and the cost is 46,500 GBP or 53,250 EUR.

Airbus 319 VIP

With up to to 55 passengers on board, this luxurious private jet takes a bit longer to bring you from London to Dubai, as its estimated flight time is 7 hours.

The interior of the plane is quite comfortable and can be turned from lounge space to office as you please. There is a big sofa, many tables, and several comfortable leather chairs. The cost of this plane for this destination is 160,600 EUR, or 137,550 GBP.

…

The other planes offered don’t differ significantly from these two representatives. The prices mostly revolve around the average prices given in the tables above, while the flying time rarely passes 7 hours.

What differs from plane to plane is their interior, so some planes may better suit your needs than others. To discover which particular plane best fits your needs, we recommend visiting the Air Charter website where you can manually search for your ideal plane type.

Summary

I guess the most important thing to know when traveling by a private jet from London to Dubai is that it’ll cost you around £50,000. Also, prepare to buckle up because this flight will take you somewhere between six and seven hours.
