Situated off the west coast of Africa, The Spanish island of Tenerife is part of the Canaries and offers a beautiful climate with all the familiarity of Spain. The Costa de Adeje is a popular upscale resort area, and the lively resort of Puerto de la Cruz, with its bars, restaurants, and nightlife, attracts many celebrities.
Unless you’re arriving from a neighbouring island, Tenerife can only be reached by plane. Fortunately, private jet charters are easy to organise, particularly if you’re coming via one of the following most popular routes:
If you need to plan private jet charters to Tenerife from one of these starting points, here’s everything you need to know.
Topics
1. Gran Canaria to Tenerife
First up, we have the neighbouring island of Gran Canaria. Many people like to island hop when they visit the Canaries, and many high-net-worth individuals base themselves in Gran Canaria. They often pop over to Tenerife for a quick break.
Although you can take a ferry over, a private jet is often preferred for speed and privacy. A turboprop only takes 30-minutes and costs €3,464.
Gran Canaria to Tenerife: Pricing Options
Unless you are travelling with a large party, a small turboprop or light jet are the most economical options here.
The prices below are based on the Nicholas Air Rise jet card with 200k deposit rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.
Aircraft Type | No of passengers | Price | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 4- 19 | €3,464 | 30 min |
Light Jet | 4 – 11 | €3,935 | 30 min |
Midsize Jet | 6 – 10 | €6,334 | 25 mins |
Heavy Jet | 6 – 96 | €7,343 | 25 mins |
Gran Canaria to Tenerife: Airport Options
One airport far west of the island serves the whole of Gran Canaria. Las Palmas airport is a 20-minute taxi ride from the main town of Las Palmas.
You can cross the entire island in less than 90-minutes, so no matter where else you are on the island, you know it won’t take long to reach your private jet.
Las Palmas Gran Canaria International (LPA)

The airport is a relatively small affair with one VIP lounge available; Sala Galdos. There is also quick access, meet and greet, and private check-in for those flying by private jet.
Two onsite FBOs can easily arrange your private jet charters to Tenerife and take care of all your ground handling requirements:
- Gerardo Melendez
- MAAT Airlines Representatives
2. Madrid to Tenerife
The first of our Spanish departure points, Madrid is a world leader in fashion. It has a rich history and culture, and let’s not forget Real Madrid – a world-renowned football team. Plenty of reasons to visit Milan, but what about when you want to leave?
Well, heading to Tenerife will only take about three hours, and a light jet features the lowest price of €23,610.
Madrid to Tenerife: Pricing Options
While a turboprop is listed here, it’s not the most convenient choice as it’ll require a refueling stop. The light jet is best here, particularly if you only fly with a few people and little luggage.
The prices below are based on the Nicholas Air Rise jet card with 200k deposit rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.
Aircraft Type | No of passengers | Price | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 4- 19 | €27,712 | 4 h 05 min |
Light Jet | 4 – 11 | €23,610 | 2 h 55 min |
Midsize Jet | 6 – 10 | €38,007 | 2 h 40 mins |
Heavy Jet | 6 – 96 | €44,061 | 2 h 40 mins |
Madrid to Tenerife: Airport Options
Madrid is a busy city, so you have two airports to choose from. There used to be the third airport – Torrejon Airport (TOJ); however, this has now permanently closed.
- Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas (MAD)
- Cuatro Vientos Airport (LECU)
Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas

This airport is Madrid’s oldest and most important. It’s situated 13 km northeast of the centre, and you’ll get there in less than 30-minutes if you take a taxi. Or, you can opt for a VIP helicopter charter if you prefer.
A whopping eight VIP lounges are at your disposal, as are in-airport sleep rooms. You can also arrange a concierge service and other VIP services.
Adolfo Suarez is popular with private flyers, and as such, there are five FBOs to choose from. Each has an array of amenities, conference/business facilities, and ground-handling services available:
Cuatro Vientos Airport
Cuatro Vientos is located 8 km southwest of Madrid. The Metro from central Madrid takes just 27-minutes while a taxi will take the best part of an hour.
This is the city’s oldest airport. AirAssist provides private concierge services and a lounge. This airport is not used so much by private flyers, but it is still possible to charter your private jet to Tenerife from here.
One FBO here will handle your private charter requests:
3. Barcelona to Tenerife
Tenerife’s visitors mainly arrive from Spain, so it’s hardly surprising we have two Spanish routes on our list. Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain and is the leading travel hub of the Catalonia portion of the country.
Flying from Barcelona takes roughly three and a half hours in a light jet and costs €27,545. The turboprop, in this instance, is more expensive simply because it requires a refuelling stop.
Barcelona to Tenerife: Pricing Options
Like Madrid, taking the light jet from Barcelona is the preferred option and much more economical than the turboprop or larger aircraft.
The prices below are based on the Nicholas Air Rise jet card with 200k deposit rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.
Aircraft Type | No of passengers | Price | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 4- 19 | €34,640 | 5 h 05 min |
Light Jet | 4 – 11 | €27,545 | 3 h 30 min |
Midsize Jet | 6 – 10 | €38,007 | 3 h 10 mins |
Heavy Jet | 6 – 96 | €44,061 | 3 h 10 mins |
Barcelona to Tenerife: Airport Options
Barcelona is about the same size as Madrid, yet only has one airport. Although this is your only option, it is quick to reach from the city centre and is well equipped for private flyers.
Barcelona Airport (El Prat) (BCN)

The airport is located on the coast at the city’s southern end. A taxi from central Barcelona takes 30-minutes while the Aerobus shuttle takes a few minutes longer.
For those particularly short on time, it is possible to charter a helicopter and arrive at the airport within minutes.
Once at the airport, you can head to the terminal reserved exclusively for private flyers. Here you will find relaxing lounges, concierge services, and other VIP amenities to welcome you. Additionally, five FBOs are situated onsite to await your custom:
4. Manchester to Tenerife
Manchester is the private flyers’ airport of choice when departing from the northern area of the UK. Tenerife is a hugely popular destination for folks in the UK, so it’s not surprising that Manchester airport is frequently used by those living in the country’s northern parts.
A light jet takes four and a half hours to complete this route and costs €35,415. Larger aircraft are also available if you’re travelling with a large party.
Manchester to Tenerife: Pricing Options
Here the light jet is a fast, more economical choice. Or, opt for the larger aircraft to accommodate extra people or luggage.
Only go for the turboprop if you really enjoy the scenic route and don’t mind stopping to refuel.
The prices below are based on the Nicholas Air Rise jet card with 200k deposit rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.
Aircraft Type | No of passengers | Price | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 4- 19 | €45,032 (£38,931) | 6 h 30 min |
Light Jet | 4 – 11 | €35,415 (£30,617) | 4 h 30 min |

Manchester to Tenerife: Airport Options

Manchester is a well-connected city and has a decent train network. From the city centre, the airport shuttle only takes 15-minutes. Otherwise, a taxi will manage the 14.5 km journey in around 20-minutes if there’s no traffic to contend with.
Manchester Airport (MAN)
Manchester is fully equipped to cater to its VIP flyers. The airport has a dedicated terminal named Premiair for the exclusive use of private flyers. Here you can relax and take advantage of the high-class services such as fine dining and executive lounges.
Three nearby FBOs can arrange your private charters to Tenerife and expertly deal with all your ground handling requirements:
5. Berlin to Tenerife
Now we head a little more north to Berlin. Germany’s capital. The city doesn’t see temperatures much higher than 25C, so naturally, many of its inhabitants like to head to places like Tenerife to enjoy a sunnier and hotter climate.
The light jet takes around five hours and is the cheapest option at €43,285, although given that this route is semi-long-haul, you may prefer to opt for a larger, more comfortable aircraft.
Berlin to Tenerife: Pricing Options
There is not much difference between aircraft for the flight time, so I recommend choosing the jet you will enjoy the most.
The prices below are based on the Nicholas Air Rise jet card with 200k deposit rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.
Aircraft Type | No of passengers | Price | Estimated flight time |

Heavy Jet | 6 – 96 | €73,435 | 4 h 55 mins |
Berlin to Tenerife: Airport Options
A lot of information online states there are two airports in Berlin. This indeed used to be the case, but Schönefeld closed its doors for good in 2020
The brand-new Brandenburg is now the only airport serving Berlin and is still undergoing expansion construction.
Brandenburg Airport (BER)

Germany is famed for its efficient public transport system, and Berlin’s train network is no exception. The S-Bahns S9 and S45 will get you to the airport from a central location in under 30-minutes. Set aside around 45-minutes for a taxi from the exact location.
The airport features a number of VIP lounges and has private check-in, concierge, and vehicle access to make your journey go smoothly.
Two FBOs will charter your private jet to Tenerife. Execujet has a particularly nice lounge for you to enjoy:
6. Oslo to Tenerife
The capital of Norway is renowned for its modern architecture and stunning scenery. It’s cold, though, and temperatures rarely exceed 18C. So, like Germany, Tenerife is popular with Norwegians as a place to soak up the sun and replenish the vitamin D.
This route is five and a half hours long and unsuitable for a turboprop or light jet. A midsize jet is, therefore, the cheapest option at €69,679 (724,975 NOK).
Oslo to Tenerife: Pricing Options
Unless you have a big party with you or are travelling with a lot of luggage, choose the midsize jet here.
The prices below are based on the Nicholas Air Rise jet card with 200k deposit rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.

Oslo to Tenerife: Airport Options

Oslo has one airport situated outside of the city. If you look online, you may come across Moss airport, mentioned as an Oslo-based airport; however, this is now solely occupied by the Norweigan air force.
Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL)
Oslo’s main international airport is 45 km from the city centre. The exceedingly efficient airport shuttle train “Airtoget” only takes 20 minutes. A taxi for the same journey can take up to an hour.
Avinor, the dedicated VIP terminal, has a full suite of services and amenities to make you as comfortable as possible. For private jet charters, you can use one of the two onsite FBOs:
7. Moscow to Tenerife
Our final departure point is all the way over in Russia. Over six thousand Russian speakers reside in Tenerife, so it has become a highly popular destination for those in Russia.
Moscow has long enjoyed good flight connectivity with the Canarian island, so you will find it easy to arrange your private jet for this route.
A midsize jet is comfortable and economical for this route at just under seven hours. You can expect to pay around €88,683 (5,476,512 RUB) for the journey.
Moscow to Tenerife: Pricing Options
Smaller aircraft can’t manage the distance for this route so choose from midsize or heavy jets.
The prices below are based on the Nicholas Air Rise jet card with 200k deposit rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.
Aircraft Type | No of passengers | Price | Estimated flight time |

Moscow to Tenerife: Airport Options
Moscow is Russia’s largest and most populous city, therefore, it is well-connected with the rest of the world and has three airports to choose from:
- Domodedovo International Airport (DME)
- Sheremetyevo Airport (SVO)
- Vnukovo Airport (VKO)
Domodedovo International Airport

This airport is 45 km southeast of central Moscow. Taxi is usually the best and fastest option here, and you can expect the journey to last around an hour.
It’s not clear exactly which VIP services are available at the airport, but there are several private lounges within the two terminals.
One FBO operates here, and it has a full range of VIP services available, plus the ability to arrange your private jet charters to Tenerife:
Sheremetyevo Airport
Sheremetyevo airport is connected to downtown Moscow by a direct shuttle service that takes 35 minutes. Thanks to the traffic, a taxi used to take hours, so to solve this problem, a special toll road was opened in 2014, and the journey now only takes ten minutes.
This is Russia’s busiest airport and boasts an incredible six terminals. Terminal A is the dedicated area for private and business aviation. The terminal can charter your jet and deal with all ground handling. Inside the terminal, you will find boutiques, a restaurant, and a full range of executive services.
If you prefer, you can employ one of the two FBOs that operate out of this airport:
Vnukovo Airport
Situated 28 km southwest of central Moscow, a direct train will have you there in 35-minutes. Due to traffic, a taxi will take much longer.
This airport is relatively small, and there are only basic VIP services here, although there is a comfortable lounge and a couple of conference rooms.
For the full VIP experience, head to the onsite FBO. They’ll take care of all your needs.:
Which Jets Can Fly You To Tenerife?
Options, options. Which jet is best for your private charter to Tenerife? The answer lies in the journey time and your requirements. Turboprops and light jets are super efficient for short journeys, but you won’t find many facilities onboard. Midsize and heavy jets will service your long-haul needs, are more spacious, and have more amenities onboard.
Turboprops
The smallest of the bunch, a turboprop is a propellor-based aircraft and is the economical choice for quick routes. The average speeds for this type of aircraft are about 300 knots, and their range hovers around 1,500 miles (2414 km). This is the perfect choice when island-hopping in the Canaries.
The Piper PA31 Navajo is a popular turboprop with a pressurized cabin. Seating up to seven people, this aircraft can handle short airport runways making it ideal for inner city or island airports.
Light Jets
Travelling up to 44 knots and with a range of around 1,700 miles (2735 km), light jets are a faster, more powerful alternative to a turboprop. These are ideal when time is an issue, and you need to get to your destination fast.
The Cessna’s Citation Bravo is one of the most cost-effective light jets on the market and features an onboard restroom. Comfortable swivel chairs seat up to seven, plus a fully stocked mini-bar and hot and cold beverage area at your disposal.
Midsize – Super Midsize Jets

If you need a jet for a semi-long-haul flight, the 460-knot speed and 2,200-mile (3549 km) range of the midsize jet is ideal. On these aircraft, you’ll also get a roomier cabin and onboard facilities such as restrooms, lie-flat seats, and possibly a food prep station.
The Praetor 600 is a larger midsize jet capable of long-haul distances. It seats up to nine passengers and has a huge luggage capacity. A spacious galley means you can opt for full catering while onboard.
Heavy Jets
Finally, we have the heavy jet. And, as the name suggests, these are big, heavy aircraft suitable for long-haul journeys. The average range of a heavy jet is 6,000 miles (9656 km), and it can go as fast as 521 knots.
With a heavy jet, you can expect a full range of onboard options, including hot and cold food facilities and, in some cases, separate bedrooms and shower rooms.
The Gulfstream G650 is a highly popular business jet with an ultra-long range of 7,500 nautical miles. This exclusive aircraft seats 16 passengers and features an entire inflight entertainment system and extensive galley facilities.
Conclusion
In conclusion, when chartering your private jet to Tenerife, there are plenty of options, so it won’t be long before you reach the sun-soaked Canary island. And, no matter how large your entourage is or how much luggage you take, there will be the perfect type of jet to suit your needs.
