- Mountain Air Spray
Olbia Costa Smeralda (OLB)
This is the airport you want if you’re coming back from the Costa Smeralda area. It’s 22km to the airport and takes 30 minutes from the resort. Here, you’ll also find boutiques, restaurants, and private meeting rooms, plus you can even charter a private helicopter or yacht.
Alghero Fertilia (AHO)

London to Milan: Airport Options

London is well-equipped to receive its international visitors. Five airports await you, so depending on your location in London and your reason for visiting, you can choose one of the following options for private jet charters to Milan:
Here they are in more detail:
Gatwick (LGW)
Gatwick is 30 minutes outside of London and can be reached by direct train from Victoria. A taxi takes longer and often gets snarled up in traffic. Overall, this isn’t the best airport to fly from if you’re coming from central London.
With two terminals available, there is a private check-in service plus lounges and VIP facilities to enjoy:
Heathrow (LHR)
The UK’s largest and busiest airport boasts four huge terminals. While the Heathrow Express train gets you from Paddington to the airport in only 15 minutes, taking a taxi is risky because it has to navigate London’s heavy traffic. A helicopter charter will get you there in around 15-minutes.
Two FBOs are situated at Heathrow with the usual lounges and VIP services:
London City (LCI)
This tiny but conveniently placed airport is situated next to the Royal Docks in Newham. Rather bereft of facilities, private flyers only tend to use this airport if they are leaving the Docklands financial district.
An FBO exists close by (but not in the airport itself), which offers VIP services and a comfortable lounge:
Biggin Hill (BQH)
Biggin Hill tends to be preferred by private flyers heading out of London on business.
Six-minute helicopter transfers get you straight from your meeting and into the airport.
The airport is small, so it’s easy to navigate. Two FBOs operate here with VIP lounges for you to relax in and premium services are available:
Stansted (STN)
This airport sits 40 miles northeast of the city centre, and this is where you’ll find the largest selection of FBOs. Most private flyers leave from Stansted and the airport is well-equipped to receive its most important guests.
While there is a 40-minute train you can take from Liverpool Street, a helicopter transfer is often the preferred method to get out of the city as it only takes 15-20 minutes.
You’re spoiled for choice with Stansted’s enormous range of FBOs. All have their own lounges, facilities, and VIP services:
- Inflite Jet Centre
- Harrods
- Universal Aviation
- Inflight The Jet Centre
- The Diamond Hangar
- Fayair
- Infinite Jet Center;
- X Jet London;
- London Jet Center;
- Antonov Airlines UK;
- North Air Ltd;
- Titan Airways;
- London Jet Charter;
- Inflite The Jet Center;
- NATS Jet Stansted;
- Aeronexus;
- GT Engine Services;
- Swissport.

Ibiza receives many celebrities and VIPs, so it’s well-equipped to make them comfortable. A private terminal and VIP lounge are found in the main airport, while the following FBOs can be found here, each offering their own facilities:
5. Private Charter: Miami to Milan
Miami offers all the delights of the Floridian coast and there is tonnes to do here. The city is host to many famous festivals and visitors enjoy pristine beaches and high-end dining and shopping.

Miami International Airport (MIA)

Located near Downtown Miami, the airport can be reached via a 24/7 free shuttle service. With taxis, you’re at the mercy of the city traffic, however, you can easily charter a helicopter transfer to get you to the airport in a matter of minutes.
Miami International is the largest airport of the three options but it doesn’t have the widest range of private facilities. Two FBOs operate at MIA and handle all private charters. They have lounges and all the high-end services you’d expect.
Palm Beach International Airport (PBI)
Palm Beach is the airport of choice for private flyers mainly because of the close proximity to the famous Palm Beach resort area. A taxi back from the beaches will get you to the airport in roughly 15-minutes.
Palm Beach is a small airport but you have four FBO services to choose from
All four private charter services provide comfy lounges and facilities so you can unwind before your flight is ready.
Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
This is another popular airport as it’s close to a plethora of exclusive dining and shopping options as well as high-end beach resorts. Fort Lauderdale provides everything you need for an upscale break.
A short taxi ride gets you to the airport, which is located north of Miami. The airport is equipped with private services and to ensure five-star treatment, four FBOs are at your disposal. Each has full amenities for its private clients:

Los Angeles to Milan: Airport Options
Los Angeles International airport (LAX)

The famous LAX airport is where most commercial flights arrive and take off from. Situated south of the city centre, a 10-minute helicopter charter is the quickest way to avoid that notorious LA traffic. On a good day, a taxi can take as little as 20-minutes.
LAX has a private terminal featuring the “Private Suite”, which is reserved exclusively for its VIP flyers. Two FBOs are located at LAX, each with their own private facilities:
Long Beach Airport (LGB)
This is the least convenient option if you’re coming from the city centre as it’s over 45-minutes in a taxi but if you’re heading from the beach resorts, its an ideal location.
LGB is a reasonably small airport but you do have three FBOs that are waiting to charter your jet and take you back to Milan:
Van Nuys Airport (VNY)
If you’re looking for exclusivity, then Van Nuys is the airport for you. No commercial flights come here, as it’s used solely for the military and private charters. Located east of downtown LA you can get there in approximately 30-minutes. Or you can opt for a helicopter if you’re in a rush.
A nice selection of FBOs can be found at Van Nuys, and since the airport is fully geared for private flyers, we guarantee the facilities are top-notch.
Los Angeles John Wayne Airport (SNA)
Possibly the coolest named airport in the world. John Wayne will get you out of LA cowboy style!
Situated in the southern OC area, it’s a little further afield than other airports, so maybe not the best option if you need to get out of central LA quickly. But, if you’ve been to the south, it’s conveniently placed to receive you.
Private lounges and services are all on offer here and two FBOs can take care of your private charter home to Milan:
7. Private Charter: Shanghai to Milan

Pudong International Airport (PVG)
Pudong is situated to the east of Shanghai and is extremely well connected. Nine shuttle bus lines plus a maglev train will take you from the city centre to the airport. A metro line is also available and a taxi will take the best part of an hour.

Hongqiao International Airport (SHA)
This airport is to the west of Shanghai and closer to the centre. It predominantly handles domestic flights, so you will likely find that your private charter has to leave from Pudong. Should you need a domestic charter, you can consult the onsite FBO for more information:

Which Jets Can Fly You To Milan?
Large or small? Scenic or fast? Which jet is right for your flight to Milan?
Turboprops
Best for quick trips and city hops, turboprops are slower but more economical. These propellor-based crafts are small and can handle short runways. Achieving 300 knots, these aircraft can go up to 1,500 miles (2414 km) before needing to refuel.
The Piper PA31 Navajo is a prime turboprop example. This sleek craft is perfectly designed to handle smaller airports with ease.
Light Jets
While not much larger than turboprops, they are more powerful. Going up to 1,700 miles (2735 km) at a max speed of 400 knots, light jets are good for fast but short journeys.
The Learjet 35A is a light jet with an excellent range. It can accommodate up to 8 people and even has a restroom on board.
Midsize / Super Midsize Jets

Capable of achieving 460 knots and a 2,200-mile range. The midsize jet is the most popular choice for comfort, space, and power.
For your midsize jet needs, I recommend the Falcon 50. It has a long flight range and plenty of luggage space to accommodate everything you need.
Heavy Jets
Heavy jets are for large groups of people or long-distance hauls. They can reach 6,000 miles (9656 km) and speeds of 521 knots.
Another Falcon model, the 2000LX is a superb heavy jet. A fully equipped galley ensures optimum comfort and guests can enjoy the ample space and facilities.
Conclusion
Thanks to the plethora of airport and FBO options available for the most popular routes to Milan, you’ll never find yourself uncomfortable or unable to get back to your favorite Italian city. The hardest part is deciding where to go first.
