Located in the very south of Portugal, Faro is one of the country’s most famous tourist destinations. With a population of around 60,000, this culturally rich town boasts beautiful beaches along with a stunning old town. And if you’re planning a trip to Faro, a private jet is the best travel option from London.
We did the research, and in this article, we’ll talk all about getting you from London to Faro by private jet. We’ll cover prices, types of jets, and airports from which you can take off, so stick with us to find out more.

London to Faro: Overview
Sunny Faro is a great destination if you’re flying from London. With plenty of private terminals to choose from in London’s surroundings, you’ll be getting sunkissed in Faro in a matter of 2-3 hours.
The distance between the two locations is about 1,500 miles, so any jet type can cover the route, even a turboprop plane which can be very lucrative sometimes, albeit slower than some of the other jets we’ll cover below.
Depending on the jet and some other factors like the date and time of your flight, the trip will cost you somewhere between £8,000 and £18,000. This sum covers the total cost of the plane, including the staff’s wages. However, bear in mind that the prices can soar at any moment when an ultra-luxury option is introduced, as you’ll notice throughout the article.
Being a small town, Faro has one airport used for commercial flights with a couple of FBOs (fixed-base operators) that you can choose from, one which was recently opened (2020) and offers all luxuries that you might need.
With that out of the way, let’s focus on the costs.

Pricing Options
As we already stated, the average price could be somewhere between £8,000 and £18,000, which mostly depends on the size of the jet, but also the model in question. And since the model also affects the final price, you shouldn’t be confused when a bigger jet costs less than a light turboprop, for example. That probably means that the light jet is a newer model, faster, more tailor-made for first-class passengers, and so on.
Another big factor for the final price is the company you’ll book your flight with. Note that some will only give you the quotes after you provide interest for a specific flight and fill in your information, like Luna Jets.
Others, like The Aviation Factory, Air Charter Service, FXAir, or Private Fly, will allow you to see an estimated price for the route. The thing here is that it’s vulnerable to changes, like time and date, but it shouldn’t fluctuate that much.
Now, let’s see the average prices for different jet sizes.
London to Faro Average Flight Prices
Aircraft type | Number of passengers | London to Faro route price | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 4 – 19 | £9,650 / 11,250 EUR | 3 hours 55 minutes |
Light jet | 4 – 11 | £8,000 / 9,350 EUR | 2 hours 50 minutes |
Midsize jet | 6 – 10 | £16,200 / 18,950 EUR | 2 hours 35 minutes |
Heavy jet | 5 – 96 | £17,950 / 21,000 EUR | 2 hours 35 minutes |
Companies will usually give you a price that doesn’t include taxes and fees, just like the ones provided above, as seen from The Aviation Factory’s website. One thing to note here is that a heavy jet covers all jets from 6-seaters with huge cabins, to airliners that can fit almost 100 people. The latter, however, are rarely rented, except for sports teams, big companies taking their employees on retreats, and so on.
London to Faro Airports
London has around five airports, both commercial and private, all providing flights to Faro, Portugal, all of which offer plenty of FBOs, or private terminals. This chapter will cover the most convenient airports around London for a private flight. Additionally, I’ll put in a few words about the private terminals in Faro, as well.

From London Luton Airport to Faro
If you travel some 40 miles northwest of London’s city center, a 1-hour car ride will take you to London Luton, the well-known airport operating many domestic and international flights.
The FBOs at London Luton are big and spacious, with modern interior and special services. Expect nothing less than relaxing in a beautiful lounge, equipped with the best furniture and other luxurious amenities. It contains other important premises as well, such as a conference room, which could come in handy if you’re preparing for a business trip.
Two of London Luton’s private terminals are run by Signature Flight Support, one being the T1, while the other is known as the T2 in the name. There’s also a third option which offers nothing less, that’s operated by Harrods Aviation.
Farnborough Airport to Faro
Farnborough Airport is also 40 miles away from London’s city center, but in the southwest direction, and belongs to Rushmoor, Hampshire. It’s a private airport that offers all the high-class services you would expect from a 5-star FBO.
The airport is known as a hub for business people, and the building itself is oriented towards serving this niche, meaning there are well-equipped conference rooms, a restaurant, and other luxurious amenities, but you can use it irregardless of the nature of your trip.
Apart from the Farnborough Airport, there is another private terminal run by TAG Aviation, a company that’s been doing this for over 50 years. Their facility is located right next to Farnborough.
Biggin Hill Airport to Faro
The Biggin Hill airport is located at a very nice location outside of London, around an hour drive from London’s city center. This is a private airport with concierge and FBO services included. The lounges are spacious and luxurious, and you can request all sorts of services such as reading materials, food, drinks, or even get your laundry done.
Biggin Hill also offers air taxi rides via helicopter to London’s city center, which last about six minutes. If you want another option, there’s one more FBO next to Biggin Hill, operated by Signature Flight Support. Both facilities are in excellent shape and are great choices for hosting your private flight.
London Heathrow Airport to Faro
London Heathrow is the most common choice for commercial flyers in London, which is reachable in about 30 minutes by car if Victoria Station is your starting point. The total route measures 15 miles.
Despite it being one of the biggest and most popular airports in London, it doesn’t attract many private flyers. The number of private terminals is rather poor, with one run by Signature Flight Support and another one operated by Menzies Aviation. These are the ones worth mentioning, but you could probably find others with a bit of digging.
London Stansted Airport to Faro
London Stansted, unlike Heathrow, is a popular destination among those who like to fly with style. The airport is located some 40 miles northeast of London and is surrounded by many private terminals, some of which are:
- Fayair Ltd;
- Infinite Jet Center;
- X Jet London;
- London Jet Center;
- Universal Aviation;
- Diamond Hangar Ltd;
- Antonov Airlines UK;
- North Air Ltd;
- Harrods Aviation;
- Ruslan International;
- Titan Airways;
- London Jet Charter;
- Inflite The Jet Center;
- NATS Jet Stansted;
- Aeronexus;
- GT Engine Services;
- Swissport.
Faro Airports
Faro Airport is one of ten Portuguese airports, and you can guess that it’s not the biggest one. However, it’s a popular destination among private flyers which is why the airport itself has two very well-equipped FBOs – OMNI Handling and Sky Valet.
Each of these will give you the high-end FBO experience you’re looking for, with services such as transfer, hotel, restaurant, massage, you name it! The staff at these private terminals will make sure that your arrival in Faro is as comfortable as possible.
Which Planes Can You Fly to Faro from Each Category?
Now, let’s focus on specific jet models from each category and see what they offer.
The prices may vary depending on the date and time of your flight, as well as the airport of your choice, but not by a lot. For this purpose, let’s see how much it’d cost you to book a flight from London to Faro via Private Fly, a prominent company, sister of FXAir.

Small and Midsize Jets (Turboprops, Light Jets, and Midsize Jets)
If you take a turboprop plane to Faro, which is quite feasible, you have to make sure that you’re okay with traveling over three hours, even four, but know that it’s one of the most lucrative options.
A good choice could be the Beech BE200 Super King Air which will take you from London to Faro in 4 hours and 23 minutes. As this might be long, know that you will have utmost comfort in the wide cabin. The jet will cost you £12,900 and it can fit eight people.
On the other hand, a faster option for a turboprop would be the Beech BE350 KingAir, a slightly newer model that takes 3 hours and 34 minutes to reach Faro. Cruising at an average speed of 324 miles per hour (MPH), this jet costs £13,700 to rent.
Now, a midsize jet is what I would prefer for this route. It costs a bit more but will offer you a much more comfortable flight, and a faster one as well. The Hawker 800, for example, needs only two hours and 20 minutes to fly from London to Faro.
To rent it, you’d need £18,400 that could be divided by eight people, which is the capacity of the plane. You could go even faster with one of my favorites – Legacy 450. This jet has an average cruise speed of 575 MPH, and with that speed, it’ll take you from London to Faro in 2 hours and 7 minutes for £18,900, according to Private Fly.
A more luxurious option for a private jet would be the Gulfstream G100. This two-engined business jet will cost a whopping £41,900 to take you to Faro in 2 hours and 17 minutes. You can get eight people on board in the G100.
A bigger variant of a midsize plane, known as a super-midsize jet, is a good option if you want to experience the utmost comfort and luxury during your flight. Huge cabins, spacious luggage space, and speed, that’s what you’ll get with the Citation Sovereign.
From London to Faro, this jet will take you in 2 hours and 26 minutes. It also has a seating capacity of eight people and costs £25,800 to hire. A faster but a bit more expensive option would be the Gulfstream G200 for £25,900. You’ll reach Faro in 2 hours and 11 minutes, along with seven other passengers at most.
Heavy Jets
The best way to travel in style is to hire a heavy jet. At the end of the day, it’s these types of jets that are the most powerful ones and that leave people jaw-dropped due to their exterior and interior. My warm recommendation would be the Falcon 2000EX EASy.
This jet looks so good on the outside and is even more beautiful on the inside. It takes 2 hours and 25 minutes to reach Faro and can fit 10 people. The price of this jet is £28,250.
If you’re ready to take things further, consider the Bombardier Global 6000. You’ll spend £30,800 to hire this beauty from London to Faro, but you’ll reach your destination in 2 hours and 5 minutes, thanks to the engine that develops an average cruise speed of 588 MPH. The airplane fits 14 passengers.
