About Airstream Jets
Peter Maestrales launched Airstream Jets in 2008 to provide private flyers with secure, reliable, and accessible air charter services at the best possible price. Among charter services, they also provide tailored catering, local transportation, help their clients find hotel accommodations, purchase ticket for events, and more. They establish a personal connection with you by taking the time to learn about your travel preferences and anything you would require during your flight.
Airstream Jets gives you clear and measurable private jet charter pricing with their unique jet card known as Distance Card. Here’s what this membership includes.
Jet Card

Airstream Jets’ Distance Card is the first jet card program with distance-based pricing. The card’s name speaks for itself; the pricing depends on how many miles you fly. This innovation in private jet travel combines the efficiency of a jet card with flexible pricing.
Members get access to the Distance Card app that allows you to calculate the price and schedule a private flight in just a few clicks.
There are two types of Distance membership cards available:
1. 25K SILVER
The pre-paid flight value for the 25K Silver Card is $25,000, while the purchase price with included taxes is $26,875.
2. 100K GOLD
The pre-paid flight value for the 100K Gold Card is $100,000, while the purchase price with taxes included is $107,500.
How Does the Pricing Work?
You can use a simple formula to determine the price:
Total Price = Overall Miles x Rate Per Mile
Each jet type has a set of mileage prices. You can choose your preferred jet size but you don’t have to make a commitment to one jet type, instead, you can switch classes depending on your needs.
The mileage prices (rate per mile) are scaled so that the cost drops as the distance of the flight increases. Prices are calculated based on statute (land) miles, instead of nautical miles.
This type of pricing system, based on miles, is easy to follow and transparent. There will be no hidden expenses in your invoice.
Prices for 2022 are as follows:
For a small jet class, with guaranteed room for four passengers on the jet, the prices are:
- For trips with a total distance of up to 999 statute miles = $20;
- For trips with a distance from 1000 up to 1999 statute miles = $17;
- For trips with a distance from 2000 up to 999 statute miles = $15;
- For trips with a distance from 3000 statute miles and above = $14.
For jets in the Light category, with guaranteed six passengers on the jet; the prices are:
- For trips with a total distance of up to 999 statute miles = $21;
- For trips with a distance from 1000 up to 1999 statute miles = $18;
- For trips with a distance from 2000 up to 999 statute miles = $17;
- For trips with a distance from 3000 statute miles and above = $15.
For jets in the Mid category, with guaranteed seven passengers on the jet; the prices are:
- For trips with a total distance of up to 999 statute miles = $24;
- For trips with a distance from 1000 up to 1999 statute miles = $21;
- For trips with a distance from 2000 up to 999 statute miles = $19;
- For trips with a distance from 3000 statute miles and above = $17.
For Super Midsize jets, with guaranteed eight passengers on the jet; the prices are:
- For trips with a total distance of up to 999 statute miles = $28;
- For trips with a distance from 1000 up to 1999 statute miles = $25;
- For trips with a distance from 2000 up to 999 statute miles = $21;
- For trips with a distance from 3000 statute miles and above = $19.
For jets in the Heavy category, with guaranteed ten passengers on the jet; the prices are:
- For trips with a total distance of up to 999 statute miles = $33;
- For trips with a distance from 1000 up to 1999 statute miles = $31;
- For trips with a distance from 2000 up to 999 statute miles = $26;
- For trips with a distance from 3000 statute miles and above = $23.
The mileage rates are locked in at purchase and guaranteed until the account balance is worn out.
For measuring a flight distance, airplane companies use nautical miles. As you can see, in the formula that Airstream Jet uses to calculate the total price, they use statute miles.
What is the statute mile and how do we calculate it?
One statute mile = 5280 feet and it’s a mile measured on land. On the other hand, the nautical mile is measured on the Earth’s circumference, and since we know the Earth is not a perfect sphere but an oblate spheroid, it measures slightly more than a statute (land) mile: 1.1508 statute miles = one nautical mile.
You don’t have to bother and do the calculation, there is an online tool that can calculate the total miles for your trip – Great Circle Mapper. This tool will show you the total statute miles between any airports, then you can use the formula and calculate the total price for your flight.
Again, the formula is:
Total Price = Overall Miles x Rate Per Mile
For example, if you are planing to charter a light jet and your trip is less than 999 statute miles long, we will take the price according to the jet size and distance, which in this case is $20.
So, 1 statute mile = $20. If your flight is 800 statute miles long (which you can find out on the Great Circle Mapper):
Total Price = Overall Miles x Rate Per Mile
or
800 x 20 = $16,000
If you have any questions feel free to contact their customer support team, and they will calculate and give you an estimate for your trip anytime.
Features and Benefits of the Jet Cards
Airstream Jets offer unrivaled versatility in jets and jet sizes, and you can switch between a smaller and a bigger jet anytime for free (mileage price varies for different jet classes).
There is no difference in mileage prices for one-way and circular trips, and the mileage price is completely measurable, as we elaborated above.
You can travel to more than one hundred international routes with guaranteed mileage prices and guaranteed availability with a 72 hours notice time. The Distance Card mileage pricing is fixed for over 200 international destinations, including the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, and Bermuda.
Another benefit is that you can save more the farther you go; the milage price drops for more statute miles. There are also no additional gasoline costs or any other expenses, such as positioning or repositioning fees, and no dates are excluded.
Moreover, the Jet Cards have no expiration date or deadline, no membership or administrative costs, and there will be no rate changes. And on top of all that, you can utilize numerous planes simultaneously.
Another great thing is that pets are welcome on Airstream Jets. If you are traveling with pets, let them know ahead so they can make sure your plane is pet-friendly.
On each flight, snacks and drinks are included in the price. For any additional requests, like catering and ground transportation, Airstream Jets can make that happen with a notice time prior to the flight, and you will be charged by recieving an invoice.
Distance Card Discount for Members
Members also receive some bonuses and discounts, such as:
- For trips that begin and end in approved Distance Card Hub Airports, you will get a 5% discount.
- Same-day round journeys and same-day multi-leg round trips are discounted by 5%.
- If you have variable travel dates (+/- 1 day), you can select the Flex Option to save 5% on any one-way ticket.
- If you confirm your flight two weeks or more in advance, you can receive a 5% discount.
Empty Legs
The “empty leg flight” occurs when an airplane dispatches on duty without any passengers. Empty leg flights occur in various circumstances; for example, if someone rents an airplane for a one-way journey, the return trip is an empty leg that becomes available for an affordable price.
Airstream Jets provide excellent one-way rates to various domestic and international locations. Look at these one-way offerings on their website, which are constantly updated.
The Fleet

Their fleet consists of all kinds of aircraft classes and sizes, so let’s take a closer look at what they have to offer.
1. Helicopters
Helicopters have more flexibility than jets and can fly at a lower height. You can safely access hard to reach places and other areas, thanks to their mobility. Also, a fun helicopter fact is that they don’t require a runway to land or take off; you can make a big entrance at events or take off straight from your roof.
Our Recommendation: Airbus H145
This is the ideal multi-function helicopter for land and marine charter operations. As a member of the medium-sized helicopter category, the Airbus H145 is at the top of its class. 2. Turboprops
What’s the main difference between a turboprop and a jet? To put it simply, a turboprop has a typical propeller that makes the flight a bit louder, whereas a jet doesn’t. However, due to its smaller size, it can often operate on shorter runways than jets.
Our Recommendation: Cessna Conquest II
The Cessna Grand Caravan is a mono-engine turboprop designed for light freight and passenger travel. Created to bridge the gap between Cessna’s jet and piston engines, it’s the company’s first manufactured turboprop-engine aircraft, developed and built in the 1970s.
