Which Jets Can You Fly to Barbados?
Flights from the US and those from Europe have different types of planes available for flying to Barbados. From the US, you can pick any type of jet, turboprop, light jet, midsized jet, or heavy jet. The choice depends mainly on your needs (comfort, number of passengers) and financial plan.
From European cities, on the other hand, you can only fly with midsized, super-midsized, and heavy jets.
Let’s look into the details of each option.
Turboprops
Small, cosy, and intimate, turboprops are an ideal choice for shorter routes. You can fly this type of plane to Barbados from the US, but not from Europe. These plains have a fuel capacity of only 1,500 miles, which is barely enough for a flight from Miami, but from New York, you would need to make a pit stop.
Flights from Europe are more than 2 times longer than those from the US, and you need to cross the ocean, so turboprops are out of the question.
Daher TBM 900 is considered to be one of the most efficient turboprops with just over 300 knots of cruise speed and 70 gallons of burned fuel per hour.
Although turboprops have the lowest renting cost, landing and refuelling might exceed the cost of renting a larger plane, so you may want to consider a light or mid-size jet even for a flight from the US.
Light Jets
Similar to turboprops, light aircraft are available to Barbados only if you’re flying from New York or Miami.
Light aircraft can go 1,400 to 2,500 miles without refuelling. Gulfstream G100 can fly directly from both New York and Miami, as its range is 2,550 miles, but its counterparts like Citation XLS or Embraer phenom can reach up to 1,700 miles without refuelling, which is enough only for the Miami flight.
Midsize – Super-Midsize Jets

Midsize to super-midsize jets are a premium option if you want to take more people with you, and some of these models are also available for European flights. Some midsize jets like the Cessna Citation Latitude have a range of 2,700 miles, which is not enough for direct continent crossing.
However, Embraer Praetor 600 has an unbelievable range of 4,020 miles and a maximum endurance of almost 9 hours of continuous flight.
If you’re planning a long flight from one of the European capitals, this might be the right option for you.
Heavy Jets
Large jets are the best option when you’re flying across continents, especially if you’re bringing a number of people with you. These planes can take up to 96 people, their range goes up to 6,000 miles, and sometimes, they are even less costly to rent than midsize jets.
Heavy jets are convenient for another reason as well: you can use their spaciousness to offer a seat on your flight to strangers, and thus, reduce the costs of your charter.
Conclusion
Land traffic is getting busier and more annoying each year. Switching to air traffic is much more convenient, so why not charter your private flight and not even think about the congestion, sleeping checkpoints on the way, booking tickets for different transportation, and other inconveniences?
Simply arrive at the airport and fly when and where you want to fly.
Barbados may be far and secluded, but when there’s a will, there’s a way. And that way is a private jet charter, no matter where you are.
