1. Private Charter: London to Amsterdam

As a relatively short flight, which sits at around 230 miles, the London to Amsterdam flight route is undoubtedly one of the most popular ones on this list. On average, this flight could take up anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour, maybe even a bit longer, mostly depending on weather conditions.

London to Amsterdam: Pricing Option

Because of its relatively short length, this route is almost a perfect opportunity to charter a turboprop or a light jet for your private flight.

On the other hand, what could be a deciding factor is the price- turboprops and light jets are a lot more economical and less costly.

The prices for all the routes are based on the Jettly hourly rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.

Which Jets Can Fly You to Amsterdam?

Many different types of aircraft can get you to Amsterdam in both luxury and comfort deserving of private charters. The exact type of aeroplane you choose to fly on will depend, in part, on the distance of the route you choose to fly.

The other big factor for picking out the type of aircraft for your journey would be the number of passengers you wish to travel with. For shorter flights, this can determine if you opt for a smaller jet or for something that’s a little bit larger – like a midsize or a heavy jet.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the most prevalent types of aircraft, and help you make your final decision about which jet you’d want to take you to Amsterdam.

Turboprops

Turboprops, the slowest of the bunch, compensate for their lack of speed by being the most economical in terms of fuel expenditure, while also being able to generate a high power output. As far as their maximum speed goes, they can, on average, reach somewhere between 300-400 miles per hour.

And when it comes to the best and most luxurious turboprops in the world, we would be remiss not to mention the amazing Cessna Conquest II aircraft. It can fit 8-9 passengers, and has a fully-pressurised cabin. This plane can develop top-speeds of up to 370 mph, and can travel close to 2000 miles, without needing to refuel. Given all of that, it’s no wonder that it comes at a price tag of about 1 million dollars.

Light Jets

Light jets, closely comparable to turboprops in terms of speed and other specifications, are a great type of aircraft for flights covering up to 2000 miles. Anything longer than that would, in most cases, require refuelling. Aircraft of this type are extremely popular amongst business travellers.

One of the best light jets in the world has got to be the Learjet 40. It has two engines, can fit up to 7 passengers, and can develop speeds close to 530 mph. It boasts a bigger interior than other jets of this type, with the overall cabin volume sitting at around 360 cubic feet.

Midsize Jets

People in a private jet

Midsize jets can comfortably develop cruising speeds between 450-500 miles per hour. Their main advantage over smaller aircraft is that they can carry more fuel, allowing them to cover vast distances of up to or about, 4000 miles, without needing to refuel.

Cessna Citation Sovereign, part of the Cessna jet family, is one of the most popular midsize jets amongst business travellers. It’s comfortable, luxurious, and can develop a speed of 530 mph, all while carrying up to 12 passengers.

Heavy Jets

Considered the “big boys” of aerial travel, heavy jets are among the aircraft types that are most suitable for longer flights, thanks to their capacity to carry large amounts of fuel. They can fly non-stop for up to 6000 miles, without needing to refuel, and can develop maximum cruising speeds between 500-600 miles per hour.

Dassault Falcon 6X, as one of the best heavy jets out there, can hold up to 16 passengers in its large cabin. It can fly at an unbelievable speed of almost 600 miles per hour, while also being able to cover an amazing distance of 6,000 miles without the need to refuel. It boasts 30 large windows that can fill the cabin with natural light and provide the passengers with some of the most amazing panoramic views from the sky.

Conclusion

As one of the world’s top destinations, Amsterdam is host to millions of visitors every year that come to visit this city for both leisure and business. Getting to Amsterdam on a private jet is certainly the best way to travel to this amazingly beautiful city.
