About the Company

Airshare officially opened in Wichita, Kansas, more than two decades ago, in 2000. One of the first services they provided was fractional aircraft ownership to local companies, and they swiftly expanded their services across the central United States. In 2004, they relocated the company headquarters to Kansas City, in Lenexa.

With the company’s significant growth over the last few years, they are now a substantial fractional aircraft supplier, with many well-known businesses and respected corporate leaders as their clients.

Airshare offers the Fractional Ownership and Aircraft Management programs for jet owners, as well as Charter Services solutions. They also offer a membership program to their frequent clientele – the Embark Jet Card, known for convenient and cost-effective flights.

Let’s look at each program separately to help you make a better decision if you are considering flying private with Airshare.

Aircraft Management

Besides charters, another service Airshare offers is aircraft management. They can assist you in eliminating the unnecessary commitment that comes with owning an entire aircraft.

For both new and current owners, Airshare offers services such as pre-purchase inspection, presenting a proposal and discussing the aircraft utilization, closing the purchase, hiring a flight crew, and experiencing the first flight.

Types of jets they have in their managed fleet are:

  • Turboprops – King Air 90 and King Air 350;
  • Light Jets – Beechjet 400A, Citation M2, Phenom 100, and Phenom 300;
  • Midsize Jets – Citation Excel and Citation XLS;
  • Super-Midsize Jets – Challenger 300, Challenger 350, Citation X+, Legacy 500, Praetor 600, and Hawker 4000;
  • Large Cabin Jets – Global 5000 and Gulfstream G450.

Fractional Ownership

Airshare takes a unique and straightforward approach when it comes to private aircraft ownership. They offer clear pricing and customizable programs geared to your specific needs.

Fractional ownership is ideal for you if you fly more than 15 times per year. You can own or lease a few aircraft types, which we’ll go over later on in the fleet section. To become a fractional owner of a jet of your choosing, you need to buy fractional shares starting at 20 days (commonly referred to as a 1/16 share). The great thing about this is that your flying hours are not restricted, so you can fly as often as you desire in a day, according to your purchased shares/days.

You will have unlimited hours within the number of days you decide to purchase and fair pricing with an estimated savings of around 25% per hour.

Flights are simple to book, and if you have any questions or need help with the booking process, you can contact the Owner Services staff that’s available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Pricing

There are three simple elements when it comes to determining the cost of the fractional ownership:

1. Expenditure – This is the cost of purchasing or leasing a fractional share of an airplane for the first time.

2. Month-to-month management costs – The monthly shared costs offer access to your flight department, which is available 24/7 and covers pilot wages, insurance, hangar charges, and other monthly expenditures.

3. Hourly rates – The hourly rate covers the costs of fuel, maintenance, and crew when your aircraft is in use.

Airshares Jet Card

The Embark Jet Card is ideal if you travel 5-10 times per year. It gives you the ability to travel for up to ten days with limitless hours for 24 months. Unlike most jet cards, which require you to pay the whole bill upfront, Airshare requires you to pay only the card’s price beforehand, and you will pay for the flight hours after.

You can choose your primary aircraft, and you have the flexibility to swap between jets from different sizes to make your trips more cost-effective or more comfortable. For example, you can choose flying with the Phenom 100 or the Phenom 300. The Phenom 300 is ideal for longer journeys with more people, while the Phenom 100 is ideal for short flights with fewer people.

You can become an Embark Jet Card user with making an initial investment. The cost of an Embark Card varies, depending on the jet. The most affordable membership is for Phenom 100, which costs $49,500 a year.

You get 24 months to use up your flying days. There are no minimum costs and no ownership requirements. Your money can be held in escrow with their bank partner to protect your investment.

Charter Services

Chartering a jet with Airshare means choosing your preferred jet from a large fleet and reaching your destination on your own schedule. The company promises to meet your demanding schedule or special requests to make your travel as comfortable and convenient as possible.

The company has a reputation for providing excellent customer service and has a network of previous and present client recommendations. If you decide to charter a flight with Airshare, you will enjoy benefits such as high safety standards, flexible scheduling, and a wide selection of aircraft.

Charter Flight Cost Calculator

Following this link will direct you to the Airshare flight cost calculator. There you can search for empty leg or multi-leg flights, and one way or round trips.

While each charter flight is different, items included in the price are fuel, crew amenities, and taxes. All flights are billed for the complete aircraft rather than per seat.

The prices on display are only approximate, and the flight availability varies, depending on the time of booking.

Estimated hourly rates and flight time for aircraft types are as follows:

  • Turboprop: 3 to 5 hours flight time; $2-4k/hour;
  • Very light jet: 2 to 3 hours flight time; $3-5k/hour;
  • Light/Super light jet: 2 to 4 hours flight time; $4-5k/hour;
  • Midsize jet: 3 to 5 hours flight time; $5-6k/hour;
  • Super-midsize jet: 3 to 5 hours flight time; $6-8k/hour;
  • Large jet: 5+ hours flight time; $7-10k/hour;
  • Ultra-long-range jet: 10+ hours flight time; $10-12k/hour.

The Fleet

The Embraer Phenom 100, Phenom 300, and Bombardier Challenger 350 are all excellent choices that make up their fleet. Regardless of which plane you choose, you will have access to a number of amenities to ensure your comfort.

Airshare maintains the aircraft listed on its charter certificate and has access to hundreds more throughout the world. We will look at some of the highlighted aircraft in both their own and their managed fleet below.

1. Light Private Jet

Light jets have a seating capacity of between five to eight passengers and are usually quite small; they might not have tables and restrooms, and there isn’t much space for flight attendants. They do, however, provide a comfortable flight at a reasonable price and are perfect for short trips.

Our Recommendation: The Phenom 300

Customers like traveling with the Phenom 300 as much as pilots enjoy flying it. Safe, dependable, and pleasant, it’s the sleekest airplane of its class.

This aircraft, which has the most extensive cabin in its class, allows you to stretch out and relax. But don’t get too comfy because your jet will arrive at the destination in no time due to its range and high flying velocity.

Specifications:

  • Cruise speed: 495 mph;
  • 2 pilots;
  • Endurance: 4.4 hours;
  • Baggage space: 76 cu ft;
  • Passengers: 8;
  • Refreshment center;
  • Fully enclosed aft lavatory;
  • Bluetooth connectivity;
  • USB Charging outlets;
  • 7-inch video screens;
  • Wi-Fi.

Airshare offers a few Dassault Falcon 50 jets in their light aircraft fleet. You can see them on their website.

2. Very Light Private Jet

This is the best class for when your trip requires you to land at smaller runways. Very light aircraft can transport a maximum of five people and are equipped with only the most basic amenities. This aircraft class is also a perfect alternative for short flights.

Our Recommendation: The Phenom 100

The Phenom 100 has just the right blend of speed and efficiency, and it can accommodate four people. With huge windows and a large cabin, the Phenom 100 has an exquisite interior design.

You may rest comfortably knowing that your pilots have access to cutting-edge aeronautics, electronics, and ergonomics. The Phenom 100 is ideal for excursions lasting two or fewer hours with a small group of people. This aircraft offers privacy, luxury, and enough space to transport whatever you desire.

Specifications:

  • Cruise speed: 437 mph;
  • 2 pilots;
  • Endurance: 2.3 hours;
  • Baggage space: 60 cu ft;
  • Passengers: 4;
  • Refreshment center;
  • Fully enclosed aft lavatory;
  • Wi-Fi.

Airshare offers a few Phenom 100 jets as part of their very light aircraft fleet. You can see them on their website.

3. Super Midsize Private Jets

When picturing a private plane, most people think of a super midsize jet’s cabin. Comfortable club chairs, lounges, and an enclosed lavatory add to the opulence. A super-midsize jet’s increased width allows for a complete galley and comfortable walking aboard, and a flight attendant is usually available.

Our Recommendation: The Challenger 350

Spacious comfort for practically any voyage – this plane’s spaciousness provides many possibilities. You can have a great experience traveling coast-to-coast with a Challenger 350. This jet is a member of the super-mid class: it can carry up to nine people and fly for approximately seven hours without stopping for refueling. You’ll be able to travel wherever you want to go in comfort.

The Challenger 350 flies high in style. The soundproof design guarantees that you can focus on your job or get a good rest. If you’re planning a round trip on the same day, you could save up to 25% on your hourly fee. You can also quickly switch your aircraft type to Phenom 300 or 100 if you plan on taking a short trip with fewer passengers.

Specifications and amenities:

  • Cruise speed: 540 mph;
  • Two pilots;
  • Endurance: 7 hours;
  • Baggage space: 106 cu ft;
  • Passengers: 9;
  • Internet available;
  • Refreshment center and microwave;
  • A fully enclosed lavatory,
  • Entertainment: Blu-ray, HDMI.
