Yerevan is the capital and largest city of Armenia. It’s also one of the world’s oldest inhabited cities.
Yerevan has a bit more than 1 million citizens. One airport is sufficient for a city that size.
Yerevan Airport is built on the grounds of the former iconic Soveit-era Zvartnots International Airport. It is located some 11 kilometres to the west of Yerevan city centre.
A car ride lasts approximately 25 minutes. Taxis in Yerevan are quite efficient and affordable. The most popular companies are Taxi Armenia, Taxi Viva, and Taxi Service Milena. The ride from the city centre should cost around AMD 5000/€10. For airport rides the most convenient option is Aerotaxi, but you can also use Yerevan taxi apps such as Yandex or GG Taxi. Taxi apps offer a bit cheaper rides – between AMD 2000 and AMD 2500, which is between €5 and €7.
There is also an option to pre-book a private transfer via Yerevan Airport Transfer, Hyur Service, Europcar, or Voyago.
Finally, if you want to see the city from a bird’s point of view and arrive really fast at the airport, you can also charter a private helicopter ride via Armenian Helicopters, Hyur Service, Luna Tour, and Ayrarat Tour.
Yerevan is one of the best-connected cities in this part of the world, and it often serves as a relay to reach destinations in the Far and Middle East.

Which Jets Can You Fly to Yerevan?
The type of jet available for a certain route usually depends on the length of the route. For example, turboprops have a shorter range than heavy jets, which is why you will rarely encounter them for distances larger than 2,000 kilometres. On the other hand, they are often the most affordable option for short-haul flights.
If you plan to fly from Tbilisi or Makhachkala to Yerevan, you can have fun and save up some money by flying a turboprop or a light jet, while distances like the one from Los Angeles require long-range and heavy jets.
Turboprops
A turboprop is a type of jet powered by a turbine engine. These jets have a range of 2,400 kilometres. This means that you can reach Yerevan from Abu Dhabi, Hurghada, Tbilisi, or Makhachkala without any pit stops. However, this may vary, as not every turboprop has exactly the same range.
Most turboprops are the most efficient when they fly a bit over 700 kilometres per hour and 390 knots.
Usually, turboprops are cheaper than light jets, however, on listed routes to Yerevan, it seems like light jets outperform turboprops when it comes to price.
The most popular turboprops you can book via Air Charter Service are Beechcraft King Air 100, Beechcraft Kind Air 200 250, Beechcraft King Air C90, Cessna 208 Grand Caravan, Piaggio Avanti P180, Pilatus PC 12, Piper Cheyenne 400 LS.
Light Jets

With a bit longer range than turboprops, usually around 2,800 kilometres, light jets are a faster and a bit more comfortable option for short-haul flights. Their average cruising speed is 400 knots.
Light jets can accommodate up to 9 people, although this number often varies depending on the model.
For the routes to Yerevan, light jets are very often a more affordable option than turboprops.
The most popular light jets available via Air Charter Service are Bombardier Learjet 35, Bombardier Learjet 40 40XR, Cessna Citation Bravo, Cessna Citation CJ3/CJ3+, Cessna Citation II, Cessna citation V Encore, Gulfstream 100, Hawker Beechcraft 200 Premier II, and many others.
Midsize Jets
With a range of 4,700 kilometres and an average cruising speed of 450 knots, midsize jets are the perfect solution when you want to speed up your flight, enjoy more comfort, and host a larger party, as they can usually accommodate more passengers than light jets and turboprops (up to 16).
Midsize jets often also offer more amenities, such as pets on planes, bathrooms, and richer catering, given that you are usually expected to spend a longer time in the air.
Some of the popular models are Bombardier Challenger 300, Bombardier Learjet 55, Cessna Citation Latitude, Cessna Citation Excel, Cessna Citation X+, Dassault Falcon 20, Dassault Falcon 2000 S, Embraer Legacy 500, Hawker Beechcraft 4000, IAI Westwind, and many others.
Heavy Jets
Heavy jets are the most convenient option when it comes to long-haul flights, as they offer the most amenities, the largest party of passengers, the longest range of 10,000 kilometres or more, and a cruising speed which goes above 500 knots.
Popular models are Bombardier Challenger 604, Bombardier Challenger 850, Dassault Falcon 8X, Dassault Falcon 900 LX, Gulfstream G 300, Gulfstream V, Gulfstream GIV-SP, and many more.
Conclusion
Flying privately to Yerevan from any destination in the world is the most practical and comfortable way to reach this beautiful city. Charter your private jet flight now and let your FBO handlers provide you with the best flying experience possible.
