If you’re planning to charter a private jet from any of these destinations in the near future, here’s everything you need to know about them.
Topics
1. Private Charter: Paris to London
The Paris to London route is easily the most popular on the list. The two cities are separated by mere 460km, roughly a six-hour drive. However, a private jet will get you there in around an hour, so it’s an incredibly short journey.
The flight will cost you around €5,000 (£4,362), which is quite reasonable when it comes to flying private. If price influences your decision-making, I have outlined the starting prices in the next section.
Paris to London: Pricing Options
Being the shortest trip out of all the top routes, the Paris to London route costs the least. No wonder it’s so popular!
Here’s what you can expect to pay for a Paris to London trip. Note that these are one-way prices, so double up if you need the cost for a return journey.
The prices below are based on the Wheels Up Core membership hourly rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.
Aircraft Type | Max no of passengers | Price | Estimated flight time |

Paris to London: Airport Options

The airport you choose for your private jet charter will depend on where you need to be and how quickly. There are three options for your Paris to London journey:
- Charles de Gaulle (CDG)
- Orly (ORY)
- Le Bourget (LBG)
Paris Charles de Gaulle
Charles de Gaulle is situated 35km north of the center of Paris. While it’s the furthest away, an express train will get you to central Paris in around 30 minutes. This is the leading international hub of France, so you’ll find most long-haul flights arrive here.
One FBO operates at CDG:
While Jetex has its own boarding area, in the main airport you’ll find a private VIP terminal to welcome private charter flights. Additionally, a separate VIP building exists but is typically reserved for heads of state. That being said, it can be used if you’re prepared to pay for it.
Paris Orly
Orly is just under 18km south of the center of Paris. Because of its location, it’s a good option if you plan to keep traveling south, as you’ll completely bypass the city. It’s also handy if you want to visit Versailles. There are no direct trains to the center though, so a taxi is the best option here.
No FBOs here, but it does support arrivals from private jets. Here, you can also charter a helicopter to get you to your destination fast.
Paris Le Bourget
Finally, you have Le Bourget. This is Paris’ exclusively private charter airport. Also situated in the north, the airport is 15.6km from the city center. Boasting seven FBOs, this is the airport of choice for most private jet clients. Choose from:

Light jets are great for this journey; you get the speed for a fast transfer at the lowest price. The bigger options are more convenient only if you have lots of people traveling with you.

One airport in Ibiza deals with all the incoming and outgoing flights; however, you will have your own dedicated private terminal with VIP lounges. Ideal for relaxing while you wait for your flight to be ready.

7. Private Charter: Dubai to London
Dubai is the glittering jewel of the UAE and serves as a great place to mix business with pleasure. Perhaps a round of golf at the Jumeirah Golf Estate or a glass of champagne down at the Dubai Marina? Taking an average of six hours to get from Dubai, the only way to travel in the utmost comfort and style is on a private jet.
Since it’s further away than the other destinations I’ve featured, the prices are on the higher side. You can expect to pay from €51,155 (£44,681) for your private jet charter to London.
Dubai to London: Pricing Options
Since you’re traveling to another continent, the prices are greater than traveling by private charter within Europe.
The prices below are based on the Wheels Up Core membership hourly rates. Note that other private charter companies might have lower or higher prices, depending on the company.
Aircraft Type | Max no of passengers | Price | Estimated flight time |
Turboprop | 9 | – | – |
Light Jet | 9 | – | – |
Midsize Jet | 10 | €51,155 (£44,681) | 6 h 40 min |
Heavy Jet | 96 | €78,702 (£68,742) | 5 h 50 min |
The reason the turboprop and light jet are not featured is that these options are not ideal for long-haul distances. Midsize and heavy jets, on the other hand, have the necessary range to get there in one go.
Dubai to London: Airport Options
Two airports are at your disposal in Dubai:
- Dubai International Airport (DXB)
- Al Maktoum International (DWC)
Both options have a wide range of FBOs to choose from as well as plenty of VIP facilities to enjoy.
Dubai International Airport

This is Dubai’s largest airport and, as the name suggests, serves as the hub for all long-haul flights, including those to London.
The airport is located directly within the city of Dubai, so reaching it from the center only takes about ten minutes. Hotel shuttles are also available, as is the Dubai Metro service.
You can take your pick from a multitude of VIP and concierge services all located in the exclusive private VIP terminal. Depending on your preference, you have five FBOs available at this airport:
- Jet Aviation
- Execujet
- HADID International Services
- Access Flight Support
- Palm Aviation
Al Maktoum International
Dubai’s second and newest airport is situated south of the city and serves as an easier point of entry if you plan to head to the coast. It’s worth noting that though operational, this airport is still under construction and won’t be finished until around 2030.
You can reach the airport by taxi. The journey takes about 40 mins from the city center.
As the airport nears completion, we can look forward to more facilities. Right now, you can take advantage of the VIP lounges and concierge services. Several FBOs have already established themselves at the airport:
Which Jets Can Fly You To London?
Choices, choices. Which type of jet would you like to charter?
There are a few choices available. Depending on your length of flight, some sizes will be better suited to your journey. Let’s take a look at these in a bit more detail.
Turboprops
These are small, propeller-based aircraft and are the best choice for short trips. For example, a turboprop is a winning choice for the Paris – London route. Their small size enables them to use shorter runways and is ideal for city airports.
Speeds can reach 300 knots and have a range of roughly 1,500 miles (2414 km) before requiring a refueling stop.
The Beech King Air 350 is one of the most cost-effective turboprops, yet it looks super sleek and has a luxurious interior.
Light Jets
These aircraft are a similar size as turboprops but can go further and faster. Their range is about 1,700 miles (2735 km) and can travel up to 400 knots. This aircraft is better if your journey is time-sensitive.
My favorite light jet has to be the Citation Mustang. It looks great and offers high performance without costing the earth. This aircraft is one of the most popular options for short flights.
Midsize – Super Midsize Jets

With a speed of up to 460 knots, the midsize jet is the most popular choice for private charters. You’ll get up to 2,200 miles out of a midsize before needing to refuel, making this type of jet much better suited for medium-long journeys.
Embraer’s Legacy 450 is a sleek executive jet with a generously sized cabin and luggage capacity. Due to its size and shape, this aircraft can handle a wide range of airport runways.
Heavy Jets
These are the big boys of the sky and have the longest range. They’re capable of up to 6,000 miles (9656 km) and the fastest models can travel 521 knots.
If you’re traveling long distances or have a large entourage, then the heavy jet is the aircraft for you.
The Bombardier Challenger 601 is a classic and a very popular choice for long-haul travelers. A spacious cabin allows for maximum comfort while its high-performance engine gets you to your destination fast.
